I have a great interview today. We all know that teachers don't make what they should in our society. That is why some look for other ways to supplement their income with a side business. Shannon Dipple is no different.

After the death of her mom and her husband out of the country for a period of time, she went looking online for a way to relieve stress mostly. She ended up finding out how to create an online business around her passion which is primary education. She now sells education ebooks to teachers and makes money from advertising on her site through google adsense.

Whether you are a teacher or you are looking for a way to make an extra $500 to $2,000 a month extra, you should enjoy this interview.

Some of the things we covered are:

How she started with no tech skills.
How she gets 60,000 visitors per month to her site for free.
Her best success principles that caused her site to be a huge success.
Where she went to get the extra support she needed to make this work (huge tip here).
What platform she choose to build her website so she didn't have to be a geek.
What its like to make money passively and how it has impacted her family.

		<itunes:summary>On Today's Show...
For the people who are not afraid to speak in front of people, there is a lot of money to be made speaking. My guest today is a former youth director who wanted to branch out on his own as an entrepreneur. He decided to start speaking and in his first year, he made an amazing $4,000 working 15 hours per week. However, by year two, he had hit $24,000 in income. By year three, he was up to $69,000 in yearly revenue.

He did this by figuring out what work and what doesn't.

I got to meet Kent in person finally when I attended a bootcamp he was speaking at. HE WAS AWESOME! I think you will enjoy this interview.

Some of the things we covered are:

How to pick a niche to speak in. (he talks about the difference for beginners and established speakers)
What he did to double his income while talking to a prospect over coffee.
How he used his 50/50 system to quit his job and give his wife the financial security she needed so he could quit his job.
How he made the crowd go "awwhh" when he held up a t-shirt and how that led to $1,700 in back of the room sales that day.
How long it takes to become established in your speaking business before seeing the BIG returns.
How he made an extra $15,000 from books before the book hit the printer (I did the same thing and made $2,000 from this same principle).

Kent's Speakers Bootcamp Bonus

If you are totally blown away by the interview as I am sure you will be, Ken has a speakers bootcamp that is in May. If you decide to go and purchase through my affiliate link, I will do a one on one personal consultation with you on how to generate speaking engagements using the internet or if there is another topic that you would like to discuss, we can do that too. This is a REAL $250 value.

The other cool thing is you get the same great price and also help us rescue orphans in the process.

Here is the link to register and get my bonus consultation.

If you have ever thought of writing and publishing a book as well as getting it featured in your local bookstores (think Barnes and Nobles), then this episode is for you. Kristen Eckstein from www.UltimateBookCoach.com is a master at getting books written, published and out on the bookshelves. Author of four books herself, she actually does what she teaches her own clients so thats what makes this interview so unique.

Some of the things we covered are:

Top 5 areas you should concentrate on when writing and publishing a book.
How Kristen used her 96 page book to land not one but two $8,000 consulting clients - (anyone can do this).
How one guy raised $7,000 to get his book published - Kristen shares two websites to get this done.
What to read on your next bathroom break that will have you coming out with an actionable marketing plan.
THE question to ask to get sponsors for your book (I used this same question to land seven different sponsors who paid $300 for a 10 minute spot at my workshops).
The pitfalls that you should be on the lookout for, and how can they be avoided.
How a $7 box from Staples Office Supply store can change your business and what to put in the box that makes all the difference.

About Kristen Eckstein

Kristen is a book-loving, chocolate-eating, stuffed animal-hugging, people-craving gal who cannot imagine a life without books.

Her reputation is to “suck” books out of people’s heads and get them into print through “Ghost Publishing”, a term I coined to define how her exclusive done-for-you Indie publishing programs work.

Through the course of her publishing life, she have helped dozens of authors independently publish and several have been traditionally published as a direct result of going through my program.

There is no doubt that hosting your own event whether it be a seminar or workshop, can be very lucrative. In this episode I am interviewing David Perdew who founded the famous NAMS workshop in Atlanta.

Nams is an internet marketing workshop that started with 65 people and now has 300 attendees coming to NAMS 7. David shares exactly how he came up with the idea as well as how he books the room (and fills the room for that matter). This has got to be one of the best interviews that I have conducted so be sure to take notes.
MMP 004: How To Host Your Own Seminars Or Workshops Offline - With Nams Founder David Perdew

Some of the things we covered are:

How to find the right location and who exactly to talk to about getting discounts (This person actually handles the whole process for David).
The 15 page book that Dave hands to all his instructors to make sure the workshop is successful.
How Dave lost a $100,000 a year website due to hacking and what he did to build it back up in 3 short months.
The persuasion technique Dave uses to get feedback from his attendees in the morning and evening - by far one of the biggest takeaways in this episode.
The marketing strategy that Dave uses to bring in 38% of his workshop attendees.
How he breaks up his workshops into 4 different sections so the beginners and the advanced attendees stay interested, and why this is a VERY profitable model to follow.
Why he started a membership site for Nams attendees and his pricing strategy for increasing the monthly fee.

About David Perdew

David has done many things including personally building a log house in the woods (on a stream with a waterfall) in North Alabama to building a stock photo agency that grew from $0 to $1.7 million in sales and culminated with the sale of the company after 5 years to an international stock photo agency in London, England.

He is also the founder of the ever popular Nams workshop.

Dan Ariely, Duke professor of behaviors economics, and a group of researchers gathered evidence suggesting that dangling huge sums of money in front of workers doesn’t improve performance. If anything, it negatively affects it. They found that our reaction to a bigger bonus is to do *more work, but [...]
